Bethanyâs heritage is built upon the foundations of pioneering sacrifices and labors of dedicated missionaries and pastors according to the New Testament pattern.BETHANY was established by BBF Missionary Joe Vella. L.D Woosely assumed the oversight of the church in 1956 and continued his service until he went to heaven in October 1990.The church flourished and soon moved from a rented apartment on Taft Avenue to a rice field in a developing area of Makati. From these humble beginnings God has raised up the modern miracle of Bethany Baptist Church.The Church averages about 800 in regular Sunday Morning attendance and well over Php 200,000.00 offerings per week. (That is about $4,000.00. The counseling rooms are busy after every service as people come to know Jesus Christ as Saviour.Pastor Gerardo C. Nable, Pastor of the church since 2000, is a dynamic preacher who grew up at Bethany and came up through the ranks of the church.He was saved and baptized in the church 28 years ago and graduated from the Bethany Baptist Bible College. Brother Gerry also received a degree in engineering and had a successful secular career. He served as deacon for 18 years then joined the staff as associate pastor to J.L. Reunilla. Pastor Nable took the helm of the great ship as Senior Pastor in 2000.Brother Nableâs wife, Rowena, and children Gerwin and Geneve are involved in every aspect of the ministry. Rowena serves as Bible College Registrar and helps in the office.
