     Simply the Best since the BeginningIn 1963, Herbert B. Hyman earned his reputation as the founding father of gourmet coffee in California when he and his wife Mona opened the first branch of The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf. Although at the time a very small organization, the company was already big on quality, as demonstrated by our insistence on directly sourcing superior tea leaves and coffee beans from all over the world; processing and brewing these fresh daily; and offering our gourmet products with exemplary service on exquisite tableware in a comfortable, yet exceptional, environment.
