Profile:
     The Philippine Textile Research Institute (PTRI) was formally established by the National Science Development Board (NSDB) on January 03, 1967, as an agency to undertake the Textile Research Program. In 1974, by virtue of Presidential Decree No. 1, PTRI became a regular agency of NSDB. On June 26, 1981, PTRI was transferred to the Ministry of Industry for purposes of policy and program coordination as prescribed under executive Order No. 700.
